What is a Duck Race?
A duck race is
a community event!
The Milford Harbor Duck Race
will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 10am – 4pm.
The duck race will begin at the Wepawaug River across the
street from
Stonebridge and next to SBC. It will end at the harbor
adjacent to Fowler Field.
A front loader will literally drop thousands of rubber ducks
into the river (scheduled for 1pm) and the ducks will ‘race’ through
a series of boons until they cross the finish line – one at a time!
The ducks, which are each numbered to correspond to an
‘Adoption Certificate’ number, will be pulled out of the river in
order of arrival.
Winner need not be present to win.
The event will also include food and family entertainment at
the Fowler Pavilion.
This is a rain or shine event.
What are the Prizes?
The 2010 Prize List will be released shortly.
The duck owners with the ‘Adoption Certificate’ number that
corresponds to the number on the winning ducks will win!
How/Where Do I Buy a Race Duck?
We are not
selling an actual duck – but instead – we are selling ‘Adoption
Certificates’.
‘Adoption Certificates’ are all individually and sequentially
numbered and correspond to an individual number on the bottom of a
duck.
